Health and Safety Manager – Data Center Projects

Sitowise is growing rapidly in the data center, industrial and energy sectors, and our multidisciplinary teams deliver services across the full lifecycle — from early development and permitting to engineering, project management and modernization.

We are now looking for an Construction Health & Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator to support the delivery of large-scale data center project in Southern Finland.

HSM represent and assist the Client Construction Program Manager, Project Manager(s) and Regional Pre-Operations Safety Manager in overseeing the implementation of high standards of Health & Safety.

HSM reports to the Program Manager and acts as Employer’s Representative.

Main responsibilities:

• The role will be a relentless advocate for managing a safe worksite.

• The HSM is responsible for the oversight of all Program H&S related activities including coordinating with various Client FTE resources, vendors, and contractors. Other responsibilities assuring project controls, client engagement participation in H&S, environmental management, risk management, planning, implementation and communications plans with support from Client teams.

• Ensuring that the project meets the project KPIs, guidelines and standards.

• Ensure Client complies with the national statutory Health & Safety requirements for each

  construction project

• Act as a Project Safety Coordinator (Turvallisuuskoordinaattori in Finnish)

• Ensure the Client / Owner´s Statutory Obligations are met in accordance with local legislation, codes and permits. Through the A/E Design Team and Contractor, liaise with utility, local and statutory authorities to implement their requirements for the Project.

• Enhance, and improve, existing construction safety management procedures through a visible

  on-site presence, and through active participation in all aspects of day-to-day Health & Safety

  management on the project

• Provides guidance and corrective action when necessary.

• Provides unique knowledge and answers questions regarding delivery options.

What we expect from you

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior role with formal qualifications in health & safety management; with relevant experience in construction Health & Safety management.

• Proven track record of relevant work experience in the Nordics with full license to work in Finland.

• Extensive experience in contractor communications, and liaising with design teams, and other project professionals.

• Degree and/or certification e.g. in Health & Safety profession.

• Strong communication skills with associated excellent reporting skills.

• Demonstrate experience of international projects and have a sound understanding of cultural, diversity and inclusivity aspects in a large-scale program delivery context.

Note: This role is full time site based.
