Controlling Energy Marshall (Electrical Control) – Data Center Projects

We are now looking for an Controlling Energy Marshall to support the delivery of large-scale data center project in Southern Finland.

The Controlling Energy Marshall is primarily an assurance role that helps ensure the project Energy Isolation Program is being effectively and safely managed by the Authorizing Energy Marshal and the GC and all contractors.

Main responsibilities:

Day to day the Controlling Energy Marshall will be actively involved in assuring and assisting in the co-ordination of Energy isolation activities on campus construction projects, by verifying the GC’s processes and onsite practices with regard to energy isolation activities are in strict compliance with Client safety and Local performance specifications and standards such as NFPA70E, SFS6002, etc. along with assisting in the co-ordination of energy isolation activities with Client to minimize business interruptions.

The Energy Marshall is responsible for oversight of all related Power and Energization activities including coordinating with all relevant Stakeholders, like Engineer of Record, Electrical Engineer(s), Offsite and Substation Power Project Managers, Integratons and Operations Teams, OFCI vendors, and contractors.

Ensuring and actively assisting in the effective coordination and planning of energy isolation activities related to construction and commissioning activities across campus projects (Level1 &2,3 HRA planning).

What we expect from you

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent

  engineering science degree.

• Proven track record of relevant work experience in the Nordics with full license to work in Finland, including TUKES S1 Qualification (SETI r.y.)

• 7+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants, preferably in the hyper scale data center industry

• Multi years experience in MV switching and DC construction and commissioning standards and practices, including life saving system engineering principles and local & statutory requirements.

• Multi years experience as a Senior Authorized Person managing electrical distribution and switching.

• Understand electrical engineering principles including breaker coordination studies, switch-gear sequence of operations, local electrical codes.

• Understand CSA & mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems, including related statutory requirements.

• General contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution.

• Demonstrate experience of international projects and have a sound understanding of cultural, diversity and inclusivity aspects in a large-scale program delivery context

• Fluent English; Finnish is an advantage

Note: The role is full time site based.
